Example: What is the meaning of Tagore's "The Gardener" (8,16,28)?

What are the meanings of each of those 3 poems by R.Tagore?

When the lamp went out by my bed I woke up with the early birds.
I sat at my open window with a fresh wreath on my loose hair.
The young traveller came along the road in the rosy mist of the
morning.
A pearl chain was on his neck, and the sun's rays fell on his
crown. He stopped before my door and asked me with an eager
cry, "Where is she?"
For very shame I could not say, "She is I, young traveller, she
is I."

It was dusk and the lamp was not lit.
I was listlessly braiding my hair.
The young traveller came on his chariot in the glow of the
setting sun.
His horses were foaming at the mouth, and there was dust on his
garment.
He alighted at my door and asked in a tired voice, "Where is
she?"
For very shame I could not say, "She is I, weary traveller, she
is I."

It is an April night. The lamp is burning in my room.
The breeze of the south comes gently. The noisy parrot sleeps in
its cage.
My bodice is of the colour of the peacock's throat, and my mantle
is green as young grass.
I sit upon the floor at the window watching the deserted street.
Through the dark night I keep humming, "She is I, despairing
traveller, she is I."

Hands cling to hands and eyes linger on eyes: thus begins the
record of our hearts.
It is the moonlit night of March; the sweet smell of henna
is in the air; my flute lies on the earth neglected and your
garland of flowers in unfinished.
This love between you and me is simple as a song.

Your veil of the saffron colour makes my eyes drunk.
The jasmine wreath that you wove me thrills to my heart like
praise.
It is a game of giving and withholding, revealing and screening
again; some smiles and some little shyness, and some sweet
useless struggles.
This love between you and me is simple as a song.

No mystery beyond the present; no striving for the impossible; no
shadow behind the charm; no groping in the depth of the dark.
This love between you and me is simple as a song.

We do not stray out of all words into the ever silent; we do not
raise our hands to the void for things beyond hope.
It is enough what we give and we get.
We have not crushed the joy to the utmost to wring from it the
wine of pain.
This love between you and me is simple as a song.

Your questioning eyes are sad. They seek to know my meaning as
the moon would fathom the sea.
I have bared my life before your eyes from end to end, with
nothing hidden or held back. That is why you know me not.
If it were only a gem I could break it into a hundred pieces and
string them into a chain to put on your neck.
If it were only a flower, round and small and sweet, I could
pluck it from its stem to set it in your hair.
But it is a heart, my beloved. Where are its shores and its
bottom?
You know not the limits of this kingdom, still you are its queen.
If it were only a moment of pleasure it would flower in an easy
smile, and you could see it and read it in a moment.
If it were merely a pain it would melt in limpid tears,
reflecting its inmost secret without a word.
But it is love, my beloved.
Its pleasure and pain are boundless, and endless its wants and
wealth.
It is as near to you as your life, but you can never wholly know
it.

8= a young woman not often sought after by men, gives of herself in
in search of love. To a man too drunk to remember, a man to distracted
with care to remember, and a young woman left hoping, dreaming to
find true love.

16=There is no way in words to express the love one feels for another in their hearts
There are the physical symbols that try to show feelings, but expressing love in words
is like grabbing a hand full of air at night and putting it tightly sealed in a bottle only to find it
gone in the morning.

28=Unrequited love. Loving another without their knowing or understanding. The only answer
is there is no answer, merely the heart ache of the one who loves.

Example: Why other colleges do not provide colored graduation hoods to graduates?

...?

well, I was an alumna of Concordia University in Irvine for a semester and I remember looking @ graduation pictures and I notice how everyone wears a hood...which to me, makes the outfit stand out more since it's not just the black gown alone and yeah...

since i NOW go to CSUEB, i noticed that none that i've seen so far have worn a graduation hood...is it because they don't offer students to wear one of are they just not allowed?

I mean, wearing just the gown alone w/ leis or whatever is just plain old since it's just like graduating from highschool...

I hope everyone knows what hoods are...not those 'hoodies sweatshirt' or those 'sash' we call...please tell me why if u know the answer...because my dream is to graduate and wear a silky yellow and black hood behind my black gown someday...well...hopefully 3-4 yrs from now...

I had a dream that there was a snake in my house, and I was trying to put it in one of those fish tanks. He kept trying to get away from me, slithering and all. He almost bit me once, but after that, didnt bother to bite me, just slithered away.

than another part was my mother had died and I was at her funeral. She wore a green shirt with a black skirt. I was with my family and I could see my cousins vividly too. then my mom woke up and started to yell at me.

Example: What does different colors mean?

I have been getting or seeing the same colors all over, especially red, white, pink, blue and now orange. Does these colors have a special meaning

Example: What could this dream mean?

I dreamt this several nights ago so I don't remember much of it anymore, but I remember me and my sister were walking along the street, then we crossed it and started walking in the opposite direction, there was a plant-covered wall with a camaflouged door I led her in, I showed her that there was a cemetary for famous people such as presidents. It was all dirt with huge patches of green grass where each of the plots were, adorned with marble monuments. We started walking towards them, before me was a bench and John F Kennedy was sitting on the bench - he looked old with white hair in a blue suit, I saw his back and was walking towards him but woke up or can't remember the rest.

Example: Dream about being Enthroned as Pharaoh (king) of egypt. What does this mean? Do all dreams have meanings?

Ok
So in my dream Egypt was in war, and it's tyrant king was a horrible leader. So the army was on the battle field, and I was one of the soldiers, but weirdly enough, instead of fighting, I was being protected by other freakishly tall soldiers with humongous shields, and these shields were painted green. In the dream I was my normal size, but then one of the freakishly tall soldiers bent down and muttered something to me in a very deep voice, so much so that I could not understand what was being said. The second time he bent over to tell me something, he grabbed my hand and I suddenly became Just as tall and big as he (which was huge) The he spoke to me again and said that the king was dead and that I must take his place as king. Suddenly we were in a procession and I was bedecked in the finest of garments. As I was going up a fleet of stairs some one announced who I was to a middle aged fat lady and she kissed me twice on each cheek.

If dreams do have meanings then does this symbolize anything?

Example: What does my dream mean...?

So i had a dream last night that i was in a plane, apparently ready to skydive. Put i took a look outside from a bit of a far distance, there was some kind of a forest or trees and a lot of green and i was instantly scared, scared of the thought of losing my breath in the air and not be able to breathe. so i took a step back, and stood in the corner of the plane afraid to fall...i tried to think of the meaning behind this dream but i couldn't. I'm a little bit scared of heights in real life (not that much though) but what does that have to do with the plane and the skydiving and the greenery? any suggestions :(

Example: High school stereotypes?
