Example: Help with English Poems - Douglas Stewart, 'Leopard Skin'?

So for english I have to analyse what this poem means...honestly all i got was that this boy wears leopard skin underwear and that was it. I would really appreciate help, thanks in advance!

heres the poem:
Seven pairs of leopard-skin underpants
Flying on the rotary clothes-line! Oh, look, look, virgins
How with the shirts and pyjamas they whirl and dance.
And think no more, trembling in your own emergence
Like butterflies into the light, that tall soft boy
Who nightly over his radio crooned and capered
Alone in his room in weird adolescent joy
Is mother's boy, softy: has he not slain a leopard?

But more than that: does he not wear its skin,
Secretly, daily, superbly? Oh, girls, adore him,
For dreaming on velvet feet to slay and to sin
He prowls the suburb, the wild things flee before him.
He miaous at the leopardesses, and they stop:
He is a leopard- he bought himself in a shop.

Douglas Stewart is looking at a week's supply of leopard-skin underpants drying on a teenage boy's washingline.

He makes fun of the teenage boy. The teenage boy has bought leopard-skin underpants because he thinks they make him look 'cool' (the make him attractive to girls; this is why we get the line 'Oh, look, look, virgins'). But the teenage boy hasn't really caught a leopard (he isn't a great hunter), it isn't even real leopardskin (it is just a print on cotton). The leopardskin underpants make the boy look like a great hunter in his own mind (Alone in his room in weird adolescent joy); but it is all pretence - it is just a piece of marketing fluff.

Douglas Stewart is cruelly making fun of a teenage boy whose dreams of himself as a mighty hunter and seducer of young women are the merest fantasy.

...

Why does Douglas Stewart do this?

Douglas Stewart was an Australian born in 1913. Faux leopardskin underwear was popular in the late 1950's and through the 1960's - so this poem is almost certainly Stewart's attempt to ridicule the sexual liberation of the 1960's.

People born in 1913 were too old to enjoy the excitement and liberation that came with the free availability of contraception and the breakdown of traditional ideas of deference in the 1960's. Many of them got bent up with spite about missing out on all the fun. Douglas Stewart has written a spiteful shallow poem about how someone else is having fun (the boy whose underwear Douglas Stewart finds so exciting) which he has missed out on.

Philip Larkin's High Windows is also a poem about the generation who felt that they had missed out on the sexual revolution of the 1960's. It is a much deeper and more mature poem than this.

Douglas Stewart is also Australian. Australia totally missed out on the 1960's - and is still full of elderly teachers who are bitter about this. The UK had The Beatles, the US had The Summer of Love - Australia had mainly sheep.

...

Why does your teacher think that this is an important poem - not the meanspirited and stupid sliver of spite which it actually is?

She is Australian.

Example: Atheists: How did humans come about?

If you believe it is through evolution, how are human beings the only ones who:
- Speak complex, structured, and written languages.
- Display intelligence to invent new material for our society.
- Create complex societies with court systems, laws, and government.
- Build cities and massive structures.
- Create transportation to travel on land, in water, in the air, and even to out of space.
- Write books, wear clothes, practice mathimatics and science.
- Create music and express our emotions through poems and paintings.
- Cook our own food.
- Purposely take care of other species on the earth.
- Create a military and weapons to go to war with each other.
- Ponder about life and wonder about a God.
- Etc.

If you can say we're related to monkeys, I think the evidence above clearly shows we are not.

If you don't believe in evolution and believe some other way humans came about, please explain.

And please do not make mocking comments or stupid remarks which cleary shows you cannot answer the question.

Example: How do u like my song searching for love ?

i went to the jungle searching for a lover
he better be good and rock my world
he better have a good reputation
cause i fell deep in the hole

so i betta be ready for some fun tonight
wear my high heels and leopard skin dress
and a gucci handbag
i said my name is jane
he said his name is tarzan
i am searching for love
that will rock me wild
come home and turn up the music
and blare out the sound of that funk
as the windows blow out
we'll be making the town get up and dance
your love got my feeling hotter than july
your love feels like a snake
wrapping my arms around u
never wanna let go hang on to the rope
and never ever underesmitate the smell
of my wild orchid perfume
i'm searching
i'm beliving in haluticans
that your'e near not far
gimme gimme gimme
just because i wanna have fun
doesn't mean to be lazy
i wanna get to know u

cast a spell on u
xoxo p.s i luv ya
i am searching for love
in a jungle of paradise
there is no turning back to the crazy life
those harsh fights cause i ain't joking
i am losing control
i am feeling like fainting
i am looking through the other side
come and get it
come and feel it
come and taste it
come and hear it
so do want me
do u forgive me

search for lover
that can satisfy me
nothing better than
your loving day and night
searching
thinking
dreaming
i ain't no fool
so give me that beat
round round here we go
stop don't stop
i am searching for love at a jungle house
where everybody rich in the jungle hangs out
boys and girls dressed in wild clothing
drinking thier martinis and thier tropical drinks
i don't know where to start
all those boys are looking good
so what do u think
is it love or not love ...
