Ok so I keep having dreams with a reoccuring theme. I had braces when i was in high school .that was 10 yrs ago. I keep having these dreams that (A) either my teeth fall out, or (B) i have my braces back on and my teeth fall out but htey are all still connected together bc of the wires on the braces. anyone know what this means? its driving me nuts
Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?
One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.
Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.
Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.
In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.
Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.
A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.
In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.
According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.
It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.
To dream that you have braces, indicates that you should not be so quick to criticize. You should stop talking too much and listen to what others have to say. It may also indicate your brashness. The dream may also be a pun on "brace yourself"

Example: What does my dream mean?

um well i had this dream a little while ago.
In this dream i was lying on my back, in my bed wearing my pj's. Now i looked toward the base of the bed to see a snake begin to slither up my leg.
I lay there, in panic, staring at it and wondering what it was going to do, staring at it as it slithered up my body.
I began to feel the snake, not as it slithering up my body, but in me, searching for something.
Eventually the snake reached my neck, then started to slither down my back and then it spoke to me.
It said 'You have what it takes' , and an image of a sunset,(which was rather red) showed up, and blocked out everything else, and taht was the end of it.
Now i am unsure of what it means, but i fear it could mean evil.
My mom dreamt I broke my neck the other night. Apparently she watched the doctor do surgery on my neck before putting it back together and putting the brace on. The reason I know about this is because that morning she woke me up and asked me if my neck was okay. Was it just a silly dream or did it mean something?
Example: What does this dream mean?
I had a dream that I was running on a track with a bunch of other people surrounding (who I don't even know) and then all the sudden without warning (I wasn't even out of breath or injured or anything) I black out and faint and then I started feeling a pain in my neck especially and the next seen took me to this room and there was a doctor and I was laying down and he was talking about how they did MRIs or something and they think I may have some memory lose from the fall on my head (but its weird because I didn't have that much pain in my head in the dream, it was mainly in my neck) and then he gave me this cast-like thing (like a weird brace) for my head and then he left the room and then I remembered to ask if I could get a neck/head brace of some sort to mainly protect my neck and the nurse said that they sell those at a store mearby but I would have to talk with my doctor about it first (which was the guy who left the room and was now in a room with another patient) I went around looking for him and he was in the room with the patient and the room looked much darker than the room I was in and when I was staring at him in the room for some reason I just stood there and didn't bother to walk over to the room for some reason and he never turned around to look at me either (I'm pretty sure I called his name a few times too but he didnt respond).
Though this would have no relevance today, as I dreamed these two separate dreams years ago - they have plagued my memories since they first occurred. Both of these dreams recurred for a little over a year, during the same period of my life. I dreamed them so often, that I even came up with a name for each one...
Okay, before I tell you about this one - you need to know one thing. My name is Josh, and I know no one by the name of Suzie or Fred. However, the latter two names appear somehow in this dream - VERY clearly...
I am walking down a narrow hall, and there are six doors. On the far right, near the end of the hallway - there is an open door pouring the light from its room into the darkness. I feel compelled to enter. As I proceed into the highly illuminated room, this is what I see - a well dressed doll with its back turned to me, an empty bed in the dark corner, and a jack-in-the-box. As I approach the doll, I extend my hand to touch its shoulder. Its head turns 180 degrees and faces me. It opens its eyes, and utters these words to me... "Fred has dreams in his strange old bed, and they're about Suzie's doll! Hee hee hee!" The jack-in-the-box emerges and joins her in the laughter. As I back towards the door, so terrified that I am unable to scream - they close in on me... I try to jump over the jack-in-the-box, and make a break towards the bed. But as I bounce on his head, I fall inside the box - as if there was no bottom. This brings me to the next dream...
The Great Rhino:
In this dream, I am dropped into the middle of a giant room. Against each wall is a bed. In each bed, rests one of the most beloved members of my family. My three sisters against the southeast wall, my parents against the southwest wall. In between the two walls is a large archway, with no door. As I try to head through the archway, I fall to my knees at the mercy of an indescribably loud noise. Assuming it is my sister Melody snoring, I yell at her to be quiet. As I do this, the walls begin to shake. The only parts of my body I am able to move are my neck and upper body. I am cemented to the floor. I turn my head to look behind me, and I see a Giant Rhino (larger than normal - about 15 feet tall, and 8 feet wide) crashing through the north wall. It charges at me with a speed so great, that I see three Rhinos instead of one. I duck and brace myself for the impact, but all I feel is a swift breeze pass me by. As I look up, a dark room past the south wall archway is illuminated by an electric shock that pulsates on and off (sort of like a strobe light). I then realize that I am able to move. I get up, and make my way through the archway. At the end of the room, I see the Great Rhino struggling to get free, his horn stuck in an electric transformer. Up close he seems a bit smaller, roughly half his original size. But he doesn't seem any less hostile. Though I begin to look at him differently. I no longer fear him, I pity him. I feel a tear roll down my face, and I reach out to pet him and calm him down. As my hand gently touches his head, he breaks free and sends me flying backwards. Now on my back, and at the mercy of the beast - I feel no fear, and only wonder to myself - Why? Why do you wish to harm me, when I desire no harm to be done to you? The Rhino charges, and I wake up.
lol am I getting old ?! I'm only 17.
