What does my dream mean?

Last night, I dreamed I was making a castle out of wood to give it to my niece as a gift. The model castle grew and grew, until it became as huge as an authentic medieval castle. When I looked, the castle was made of stone instead of wood. When I looked at my niece, she was 16 (she's currently 10), and she was a princess. I was clad in armor, on a horse, and a sword in my hand. Everyone who wished to get to her had to go through me (and my sword) first. There was a part in my dream where I was kneeling before the King and Queen (my cousin's husband and my cousin) and I was being knighted. What in the world could my dream mean?

To see a castle in your dream, signifies reward, honor, recognition, and praise for your achievements. It foretells that your future will be a happy one, surrounded by the love of your children, generosity of neighbors, and comfort of friends. You are destined to a position of power, wealth, and prestige.

To dream of wood, suggests that you are feeling dead inside and emotionless. You may be behaving automatically and just going along with the flow. Or you may be acting out without fully thinking things through.

For a male, to see a princess in your dream, represents his sister or an important female figure in your life. It also suggests your desires for the ideal woman

To dream that you are wearing an armor, symbolizes your defense mechanisms and your ways of shielding yourself from things that may hurt you.

To see a horse in your dream, represents a strong, physical energy. You need to tame the wild forces. The dream may imply that you have been horsing around. Or perhaps you need to be less arrogant and "get off your high horse". If you see a dead horse in your dream, then it indicates that something in your life that initially offered you strength is now gone. This may refer to a relationship or situation.

To dream that you are wielding a sword, represents your ambition, competitive nature decisiveness and will power.. You seek to hold a position of prestige, authority, and distinction. Alternatively, the sword can be seen as a phallic symbol and thus represent masculine power

To see a knight in your dream, signifies protection and security. The knight can be seen as a savior or someone who sweeps you off your feet, as in the "knight in shining armor".

To see a queen in your dream, symbolizes intuition and personal growth. The queen is also a symbol for your mother.

To see a king in your dream, signifies much success and prestige to be headed your way. It is symbolic of power and control

Good Luck

In a dream, a castle suggests that spiritual strength is accessible to you at this time. Other attributes of the castle expand on this theme.

Wood symbolizes the natural in a dream. The quality and texture of it are clues to the direction you may take to regain a more natural sense of self. It also symbolizes the fire of intuition, but in a latent, expectant state.

Stone represents the earth element and therefore symbolizes stability and permanence.

The knight symbolizes the spirit that has dominated the material world.

Royalty symbolizes something you feel ranks superior. If you find yourself in a dream with royalty, it may indicate that you feel your position in life is improving, or that you deserve equal status. If the king or queen has a particular quality in the dream, you may want to consider how that quality represents you at the time of the dream.

It seems as if you're protective of your niece, and in this dream, those thoughts manifested themselves into symbols which reflect that. For instance, the castle is to protect her. The metamorphosis of having the castle change from a small wood one to a giant stone one symbolizes the global changes you may be experiencing in some area of your life, perhaps having to do with your niece, as she is the main focus of this dream. The sword is obviously a tool used for protection, so it makes sense that you have it. The questions you want to ask yourself are: what makes you feel so protective over your niece? What has or is happening in your waking life that has put these thoughts in your head enough to provoke dreams about it? How did the dream make you feel?

If you can pull all of this together, hopefully you can make more sense of things.
